Problems in pregnancy
Our patients come to us with a variety of mild and severe pregnancy-related symptoms, including tiredness, insomnia, anxiety and depression, nausea and vomiting, heartburn, constipation, uterine bleeding and threatened miscarriage, itching, sinusitis, varicose veins, haemorrhoids, vulval varicosities, recurrent urinary tract infections, rib, back and neck pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction, carpal tunnel syndrome, and leg cramps.
Treatment from 34 weeks' onwards focusses on helping mum and baby prepare for the birthing process. Your acupuncturist can provide treatment protocols used in Chinese hospitals to turn breach babies, and later, to encourage the onset of natural labour.
Acupressure in labour
During your final birth preparation acupuncture session, your acupuncturist may show you and your birthing partner how to use acupressure during your labour.
